This images is of my piece that I felt was challenging yet successful. This piece challenged me in ways like how little dark this picture actually had. I had to add shading in areas in the face of the waves and outside the wave to make it look more realistic and more 3 dimensional. Ever since I first heard of this project this was the first idea that came to my mind. I knew that this would be a unique idea that I felt like I needed to peruse . No one else thought of a idea that I thought was as unique as this one. This project was difficult because you really needed to show 3-D in the photo and that's why I felt like adding the boat and mountains outside the wave. I also felt like something needed to be added inside the wave so that is why I added the surfboard. I also like the look of the water outside of the wave. My brainstorm and sketches were not as 3 dimensional and I think are over all not as good as the main piece.

1. This is the piece that I thought was the most successful. It is my scratch board piece and I enjoyed working on this project. The project was to show movement and the first thing that came to my mind was fireworks. I felt like the piece also needed another source of movement and I thought the wave would go very well with the fireworks. This piece was very challenging, in the water it was very hard to get the texture of the water just right so that is one of the thing I wish could be improved. I think the part of the wave that looks good is the white water where the wave is breaking, I really like how that turned out. The sky looked empty with only the fireworks so I decided to add starts and also the moon. I like how this piece turned out and this is the piece im most proud about.
2. The two images above are 2 pieces that I choose that shows growth over the semester. The first image is my self portrait and I really think it developed my skills in facial features. I really like how the nose and eyes turned out because I like how life like they look. I wish I could improve on how the hair looked in this project because it doesn't look real and how I wanted it to look. The second image the the still life piece we did in class. I like the shading that I potraid around the flowers and the vase. I think it really makes it stand out and look quite nice. I wish I could improve on the handle of the oil can which doesn't quite look 3 dimensional and life like. This piece really helped develope my shading in and around still objects and I think it turned out very well.
