Over these three pieces, i really developed as an artist in all three mediums that i chose. The process i took for my first painting is that I painted smaller versions on small canvas squares. Also I have also painted with acrylic before so i know what the brush strokes should look like. My goals for this piece were to get good texture and dimension in the waves and water. I think i accomplished this maybe not to the fullest extent, but that's just one reason why i have grown as an artist but also have more room to grow. In the second piece, I chose to use prismacolor color pencils for the medium. I started by sketching out one or two similar pieces in color pencils in my sketch book. I thought they were going very well and i liked how the texture and water was looking in my sketches along with the sand. My goals for this piece were to really develop the 3-D feel in the sand in the foreground and the ocean in the background. I really think i accomplished this well and added some cool features with the bird and island in the drawing as well. In the last piece, i used charcoal as my medium and it was also my first piece of the series. I started out by sketching on newspaper with charcoal to help get the feel and shape of the wave down. After that i used what i knew for the final piece. Some of my goals for this piece were to make the water like really catch your eye, and also add some cool life like textures in the wave crashing and in the water. Overall i think i did really well on this piece and i enjoyed this one the most out of the series.
